YOU'RE GETTING OLD WHEN.....

It is my restday but i feel restless, tried to get in touch with my friends but they're all darn busy. decided to fiddle and scribble while doing the laundry, i've come up with my top ten list...

You're getting old when....
1. Your metabolism slows down and your arse jiggles for a week whenever you down meals good for 2 to 3 persons, unlike in your teens, you could down a gallon of ice cream and nothing happens.

2. Once in a while you're getting annoyed by hard and edgy music you use to blast your ears with.

3. You go to a bar with soft music, have a beer and a talk with your mates, unlike before you go to where the live bands are.... or the where the live nudes are.

4.You have to work real hard to get yourself in great shape, meaning you lack physical activities nowadays and your idea of an exercise is switching tv channels manually.

5. You hear Kylie Minogue's song in the airwaves bringing back high school memories and later on discover that MYMP covered the song.

6. And the kids' think the song is written by MYMP.

7. A stranger, younger than you asking for directions, calling you kuya or ate, or worse, manong or manang.

8. You easily get drunk with 4 bottles of San Miguel beer when you use to down half a case by yourself.

9. You watch the television and see the once young teeny boppers of your era doing parent or villain roles, think of the "That's Entertainment stars".

10. You use to have game, mimicking air jordan's sleek moves. Now you can only shoot, dunk and do cross-over moves in NBA live 2007.

Melody Wrench live @ the Music Museum

Very nice light show to compliment the band's ethereal sound, swirling guitars and wall of sound plus the dazzling lights is totally an atmospheric experience.

Sunrise at La Union

Perfect shot of the sun rising at the La Union province, that's up north from Manila. The smell of morning dew is very refreshing, without the smog that comes with my everyday life back home.

NEW YEAR'S EVE

Amidst the silence of my room
the pain i bear is like firecrackers
that howls outside my window

Loathing inside my head
is the agony of a long journey
towards my unfulfilled dreams

Fireworks display can be seen
signalling...

Another year of torment
and the smog that is so thick,
making my dreams look dull.

written inside my room on New year's eve 2k.

Sunset view at the bay

Nice shot of the sunset from Hotel Philippine Plaza Garden fronting the Manila Bay. My wifey took this picture during the convention.

@The Lingayen Shrine

The Historic Lingayen Province, one of them sites where Gen. McArthur landed and liberated the Phil. from the Japs. A good place to visit and ponder with whatever is on your mind...I usually try to write stuff here, The Morning Call is one of its product.

The Sunken Garden, University of the Philippines

My Haven, i usually go here during the holy week, write stuff, reflect, ponder as long as i want to be alone. Sanctuary, Garden and Storm was written here. With a pencil and a piece of cigarette pack.

STORM

Streak of light
Cuts across the skies.
The deafening roar of thunder
Is a torrent of darkness.
The ferocious winds
batters the soul
cloud burst...
An Angel falls.

untitled

I watch you in my dreams
an admiration in secrecy
an affection i last felt
in a decade or so it seems.

But it pains me so much
Anticipating something
when there is none
to be excited of.

Emptiness is what i feel
there is really nothing
it is just kindness that made me believe
that i am wanted.

WELLWISHERS

Flowers that brightens
a room full of gladness
Smiles that lightens
a heart filled with sadness

A hand that always assures
I am never alone
People that always treasures
are ringing my bed phone

These are thoughts inside me
that always lingers my mind
These are thoughts i want to see
Feel lighthearted and fine

But i'm boxed inside a room
where silence is deafening
And the chill of gloom
is my only companion.

ANJIRIE

A darling bud so pleasant
Eager for the sun's warmth
She plays with her long brown locks
Her sunlit smile is always a charm
Bringing joy to my longing heart

I feel gladness whenever
her gaze meets mine
It also brings sadness,
Wishing a lass as pretty as her
would come and bring
An eternal happiness
We are searching for quite sometime.

IRIS

She is magical to one's eyes
As she unfurls in her full bloom
To reveal a kaleidoscope
Of color touching lives.

Purple petals that reaches
Uplifts my wounded soul
And the scent that sends
away my troubles left unspoken

In a garden she stands bright
And softly lightens my heart
How pure! As she dances
with the breeze and moon's tender light.

BLACK

Shadows on the wall
dances with the thin yellow light
as it flickers

Collosal rain threatens
outside the stained
glass window

The moon dresses in black
as the wind sighs
a song of grief

I lie motionless
as i felt a warm path
on my cheeks, i quiver

Heaven trickles
as i weep and grieve
over the purple moor

Thoughts that arise in me
shall forever dwell my mind
than my tongue could utter.

SANCTUARY

Within this solemn place
I sit and stare
In the vast open space
My mind wander
Beneath the green willows
I choose to stay
Where forever just seems
Part of day.
